Tourism in Nepal

Tourism in Nepal

Tourism is the largest industry in Nepal, and the largest source of foreign exchange and revenue. Possessing 8 of the 10 highest mountains in the world, Nepal is a hotspot destination for mountaineers, rock climbers and people seeking adventures. The Hindu and Buddhist heritage of Nepal, and its cold weather are also strong attractions.
http://www.adventurediscoverytreks.com/trek_everest_base_camp.php Mount Everest Base Camp has been a popular destination for trekkers since the very first expeditions to the Nepalese side of Everest in the 1950's. To reach this part of the Himalaya within a limited time, we have devised this two week trek to Everest Base Camp which runs directly to and from Lukla. The Everest Base Camp trek, a very well known mountain trek, follows the Dudh Kosi valley and climbs up to the Sherpa capital of Namche, a bustling bazaar that’s a junction for trekkers, the local Sherpa and expedition’s enroute to the mighty Mt. Everest. From Namche, we trek along a high traversing path where we have our first good views of Everest and then head towards Thyangboche Monastery, structurally located on a ridge-top with commanding views of the Everest landscape. We then descend to the Imja Khola and continue to the villages of Pangboche and Pheriche before finally approaching the Khumbu Glacier. We then follow the glacier, first to Lobuche, a vantage point for some spectacular views of the ‘Ama Dablam, Taweche and other peaks and then hike to Gorak Shep for a breather. We also have the opportunity to ascend Kala Pattar from where we can get some awesome views of the Himalayan giants that literally numb your senses with stunned admiration that beholds the eye; which makes up for the lung-bursting climb that took you up there. You soon realize it was absolutely worth it. This also includes fantastic views of the south west face of the colossal Mt. Everest. We then trek down to Everest Base Camp at the foot of the Khumbu ice fall before finally making our way back down to Lukla.

Adventure Tour

Being at the top of the world Nepal offers a wide range of adventure tourism to those who takes their life as a challenge. The varied landscape has some of the best sites for these activities, raging rivers to run, mountains to scale, clear blue skies, challenging treks, fine lakes and rivers to boat, fish and raft down, and a wild terrain to ride.

River rafting, one of the best ways to explore the typical cross section of natural as well cultural heritage of the country. Rafting is inarguably the best way of exploring Arcadian Nepal, as it takes you through hamlets, canyons, virgin forests, and wildlife.

Jungle Safari is another area of interest for Adventure Tourist. There are many National Parks in Nepal that can be a interest of Adventure Tourist.

Nepal a Heaven for Adventure Tourist

For all those cliffhangers out there, Kathmandu offers terrific places for rock climbing that make for an experience of a lifetime. Make sure you leave time for hot air ballooning for a bird/s-eye view of the Kathmandu Valley and the magnificent Himalaya. See life from a new perspective as you take off in a micro-light aircraft for motor gliding in Pokhara. A trip will take you over some of the best scenery on earth, as you share airspace with Himalayan griffin vultures, eagles, kites and float over villages, monasteries, temples, lakes and jungle, with a fantastic view of the majestic Himalayas. The Bhote Kosi, one of the world’s wildest raging rivers, rushes down from the heights of the Himalayas. This Bhote Kosi is the main tributary of the Sun Kosi and is followed by the Arniko highway from Kathmandu to Lhasa. Mountain flights offer spectacular views of the Himalaya in just one hour. These flights offer the closest possible aerial views of Mt. Everest and other above 8,000 m peaks.
